Al jardín!....... To the garden!

Tengo este mueble hace mucho. Pero las modas van cambiando y los gustos de uno también, no? Y ya no me gusta como me gustaba en ese momento. Pero sus estantes siempre vinieron bien para guardar libros y demás, así que fue cambiando varias veces de lugar y de contenido

I' ve had this piece of furniture for a long time. But decor trends change and our style too, don't it? And now I don't like it so much. But its shelves have been always very useful to keep books and other things, so it was moved through different places with different content

Pero decidí darle salida. No! Desprenderme no entraba en los planes. Le di salida... al jardín, a la galería, cerca de este rincón

But I decided to let it out. No! Getting rid of it was not in my plans. I let it go.... to the garden, to my back porch, near this corner

Primero pinté la estructura de hierro de blanco ya que no quería que se destacara

First I painted its iron structure white, because I didn't want a contrast with the wall

¿Notaron que el cactus tiene unos pimpollos por abrir? Hace unos días disfruté la primera flor!

Can you see those little samplings in the cactus? I enjoyed its first flower last week!

Enseguida se fue llenando de macetas y tazas con plantas que se estaban acumulando en los bordes de las ventanas

It soon became full of pots and teacups with plants that were acumulating on windowsills

también me permite tener a mano mis herramientas de jardinería, que daban vueltas por ahí

and now I can have my gardening tools on hand

Hay lugar para un trébol de cuatro hojas

There's place for a four-leaf clover

y por supuesto un ayudante es siempre bienvenido

and of course an assistant is always welcome

Abajo de todo hay tres ahumadores, se usan para echar humo a las abejas, ya que al producir una sensación de incendio se preparan para salvarse, dedicándose muchas de ellas a llenar el buche de miel y permiten trabajar entonces sin que se pongan agresivas

In the lower shelf there are three bee smokers, that create an opportunity for the beekeeper to open the beehive and work while the colony's defensive response is interrupted after blowing smoke. Smoke initiates a feeding response in anticipation of possible abandonment due tu fire and bees consume a lot of honey, making it difficult to sting.

Si yo crío abejas? No! Sólo junto cosas que me gustan, algunas que ni se bien para qué sirven hasta que investigo un poco más...jaja

Are you wondering if I'm a beekeeper? No! I just gather things I like, even if I don't know exactly what are they for until I search a bit...LOL

Hoy compartimos...algo que quiero transmitir...Something I want to transmit

"Hoy compartimos" es un grupo de bloggers que se junta todos los meses para postear un tema en común y desarrollarlo desde su perspectiva, y el de febrero es "Yo quiero transmitir".
La verdad que esta vez el tema me desorientó un poco, ...transmitr....transmitir....transmitir... me repetí, y pensé en todos los cuentos tradicionales a los que me acercaron mis tazas y platos infantiles

"Hoy compartimos" ("Today we share") gets together once a month to post on a specific topic, from a personal perspective of its own, and February's topic is "I want to transmit".
The truth is that this time the tittle desoriented me a bit, transmit....transmit....transmit...I repeated to myself, and I began thinking in all the nursery rhymes that my children's cups and plates lead me to.

todos muy antiguos - de los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII-, tuvieron su origen en eventos históricos y fueron compuestos para adultos, quienes los fueron TRANSMITIENDO a sus hijos y como éstos los amaron fue éso lo que les permitió que sobrevivan de generación en generación.

Como siempre, distintas interpretaciones sobre su origen, algunos hablan de un gran cañón, cuyo nombre era Humpty Dumpty, que durante la Guerra Civil Inglesa fue ubicado junto a la iglesia St Mary, en la ciudad de Colchester, que tenía un gran muro. Durante el sitio de esta ciudad se habría derrumbado esta pared bajo Humpty Dumpty causando esta gran caída. Otros hablan de la caída del rey Ricardo III cayéndose de su caballo llamado "Wall" en la batalla de "Bosworth Field"

Sí, las imágenes de arriban son un poco crudas, no? pero no dramaticemos tanto, vemos que si bien tiene alguna herida, nada que no haya podido arreglar una curita

Yes, images above were a bit shocking...but we must not dramatize it too much, he had some wounds but nothing that couldn't be solved with a bandaid

Humpty Dumpty pertenece a "Mother Goose" ("Mamá Ganso"), que es una recopilación de rimas infantiles y aparece como personaje en una de ellas y por supuesto en mis platos y tazas!

Humpty Dumpty belongs to "Mother Goose", a collection of nursery rhymes, and a character in one of them and of course it appears in my plates and teacups!

y también se hizo conocido por su aparición en "Alicia a través del espejo" (1872), de Lewis Carroll

Y, si bien no pude encontrar mucha información sobre su presencia en Francia en este libro con hermosas imágenes que tengo creo haberlo encontrado, este Monsieur Coco no puede ser otro que nuestro amigo con Mamá Ganso, no?

And, although I don't know too much about his presence in France, I think I have found him in this old book with so nice images, this Monsieur Coco must be our friend with Mother Goose, don't you think so?

Realmente amo estas ilustraciones. Pero les voy a decir la verdad, amo mi vajilla infantil aún cuando las imágenes no sean mis preferidas o de mi estilo . Porque todas ellas TRANSMITEN esa historia detrás de la pieza, ese nene que la usaba para cenar (o que la veía en el aparador porque su mamá no quería que lo rompiera).

I really love these illustrations. But I will tell you the truth, I love my children's ware even if the images are not my prefer ones or my style. Because all of them TRANSMIT to me that story behind the piece, that child that used if for dinner (or that watched it in the hutch because his mother didn't want him to break it).

Niñas con sus muñecas..... Girls with their dolls

A las nenas siempre les ha gustado jugar con muñecas.
Vestirlas, peinarlas...

Girls have always liked to play with dolls.
Dress them, comb their hair...

Convertirlas en alumnitas...

Teach them a lesson...

y también, pasearlas en sus carritos

and walk them in their strollers

Sí, el mismo motivo en una taza blanca y en otra verde, con su juego de platos, hondo, playo y de postre

Y mientras la mayoría pasea su muñeca

And while most of them take their doll for a walk

O su osito

Or their teddy bear

Otras tienen más trabajo con muchos niños a cargo

Tengo más platos y tazas con muñecas, pero las dejo para otro día, llegó el momento que toda madre espera después de un día agotador

I have more plates and teacups to share, but that will be another day, now it's just that moment that every mother has been waiting after a tiring day
