El Mostrador.... The Counter

When I shared my new/old kitchen I told you that the idea was  not to buy cabinets but only old pieces of furniture. During the redo we began to look for them and when we saw this old grocery counter we fell in love with him. And with the big cupboard that had been with him so many years

We decided to leave its paint just like it was -even with the chippy finish- and only removed it from the top

aunque aún conserva recuerdos acumulados a través del tiempo

though it still retains memories accumulated over the years

One of the things we liked most were the details of the corbels

The only change we made was adding a couple of shelves to have more space for dishes

since the structure only had this bottom shelf, which makes me imagine sellers resting their feet while talking with customers, don't you think so?

En el centro tiene un cajón

It has a drawer

and we use it to store some kitchen accessories

and of course I would never take out this iron compartments used to keep paper money and coins. How happy I would have been as a girl playing store with it...! Am I the only one?

The counter is the place to gather with family and friends, work on the computers, make some DIY...and also have tea reading a magazine

Oops! what a coincidence! just the page of Sophia of July where my children´s china collection appears...

Espero que les haya gustado.
Hasta la próxima!

I hope you liked it.
See you soon!

Backstage: we all know taking photos at home is not easy. I found some free time, good light, clean house, nobody in the kitchen...but she is always paying attention behind me...
