Un Té de Locos....... A Mad Tea Party

I have been cleaning the house and getting it ready

Bienvenidos!

I am joining for the first time the 5 th Annual  "Mad Tea Party" hosted by Vanessa, from A Fanciful Twist.
Welcome!

"A Mad Tea Party" is chapter 7 of  Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, written by LewisCarroll (pen-name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) in 1865 and is a piece of classic literature, not only for children

This spoon with a rabit has not been chosen by chance. March Hare is one of the characters that share the tale with Alice

Alice found a key to open the door to fantasy and imagination. Fortunately, I have a similar one!

So let's open the door and get ready for the tea with many guests.
And, of course, we will use our favourite tablecloths

 un lindo juego de té

a nice tea set

Sweets are a must in every tea

Por suerte colaboran los gatos cocineros

Luckily we had the help of the baker-cats

because these ones are very enthusiastic but only drinking, eating and chatting...

Thanks to everyone's help, here is the pretty tablescape

y no descuidaron ningún detalle

and they took care of every detail

But this is not a formal tea, no no no...all the guests had a lot of fun.
Some of them went to the pond to feed the ducks

mientras otros saltaban en el agua

while others splashed

otros jugaban a subirse a caballito

some play piggyback

qué tal un partido de badminton?

what about a badminton game?

After so many activities some guests wanted a quieter time

Could these cookies be the ones Alice ate to grow up?

O estas rosas de chocolate?

Or these chocolate roses?

But these are not the only sweets

One guest arrived a little late. She looks like one of the characters, doesn't she?

This Mad Tea Party goes on and guests continue having fun but I'm going to say goodbye...

so you have time to visit other mad ones...ehrrr...other tea parties...HERE

Espero que les haya gustado.
Hasta la próxima!
Besos!

Hope you like it.
See you soon!
Kisses!

Decoupage con gramática francesa.... Decoupage with French grammar

I have already done decoupage with paper napkins and with storybook' s copies.
But I wanted to try with old book pages. I think the lovely cabinet that Jennifer from Town and Country Living shared finally decided me.
But there were two obstacles, I needed a piece of furniture which could be "attacked" and I had to overcome  my difficulty to cut up the pages.

When some days ago I realized how ruined this folding table was, one of them was removed

And the second one was removed when I found some lovely old books, they were very cheap and had been  left by their owners (I can't do it with mine...). By the way, it's a nice way of displaying such nice illustrations and texts, isn't it?
So task started. Glue mixed with some water, a brush...

and getting hands dirty is the best way to prevent wrinkles

Y así quedó

Here it is

As the color of the pages is very similar to the table I thought it was a good idea to line only the top

y la parte de abajo

and the bottom

I left the edges with their natural damage showing passing time

El libro es de gramática francesa

And although I don't speak French, I understood some things and even got romantic

Me detuve contemplando las hermosas ilustraciones

I contemplated such wonderful illustrations

And, let's see what I found!

Yes... childre's stories are following me and of course I don't resist. Now I know how to say Little Red Riding Hood in French, Le petit Chaperon Rouge.

As this is a folding table I lined it all extended and then, when the glue dried I cut it

The truth is I am very happy with my "new" table. And what I like most is that next time I invite people I won't need a tablecloth as I have been doing lately to cover the ugly table. Maybe some of them want to learn some french vocabulary

Besos!

I hope you liked it.
I'm just looking around looking for the next "victim"...
Kisses!

Este chanchito fue al mercado...This little pig went to market...

… ¡Y este pícaro gordito se lo comió!

This is a fingerplay, in which you wiggle each finger or toe and at the end you tickle the child.
And it is similar to "Este dedito compró un huevito" in Spanish, something like this:

This little finger bought an egg
This one cooked it
This one salted it
This one tasted it
and this naughty fat one ate it up

So far I have a flat bowl and plate set

(Wood & Sons
Burslem    England)

And a two handle cup with its saucer. It's the same I shared with you speaking about "Hey, Diddle, Diddle"

(Woods Ivory Ware
England)

But a collector's life is not easy....no no no....
Let´s see some close ups, here is the pig that stayed at home

Acá el que come carne asada

Here the one who had roast beef

El que no come nada

Here the one who had none

Poor piggy who comes back home crying...

that appears in both sets

But.... I don't have the one who went to market... yet! That's why I said "so far"

Ellos no son los únicos cerditos famosos

They are not the only famous pigs

But I don't want to mix stories. These are not five but three.
And we will speak about them another day

Hope you enjoyed it, if you want to see other stories you can visit
                                                            Hey, Diddle, Diddle
                                                           Ride a cock horse...
                                                          Little Red Riding Hood or
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe

Espero que les haya gustado.
Hasta la próxima!
Besos!

Hope you liked it
See you soon!
Kisses!
