Mi vieja máquina de coser..... My vintage sewing machine

I love having my mom's sewing machine. It was her mom's, who made fantastic models for her, like she then made for me when I was a child

I however, haven't used it much. I did have an attempt many years ago, I took some sewing lessons and made my own pair of pants and a skirt.... but that was it

Ahora realmente no tengo tiempo pero en algún momento tal vez me vuelva a dedicar

Now I have no time, but maybe someday I'll try again

I also love the fantastic fashion sketches from the vintage sewing book

el diseño que decora la máquina

the pattern decorating the machine

and when I found these vintage sewing machine accesories tin I had to take them home

y las aceiteras también

and the little oil cans too

(sewing threads ads)

no son lindas para una pequeña colección?

are'nt they nice for a collection?

Espero que les haya gustado.
Hasta la próxima!

Hope you liked it.
See you soon!

  4. I have the sewing machine that belonged to my grandmother and it's very similar to yours. I hope to have a spot to display it in one of our guest bedrooms if they ever get finished! The fashion illustrations are wonderful! My mother also sewed most of my sister and my clothes when we were growing up. As for me, I make mostly pillows and window treatments when I can find the time. Although I just finished a Little Red Riding Hood costume for our granddaughter and that was a fun project to work on.

I love your collection of oil cans!

Divinas!!!
    Un beso

  8. Hola! Yo de nuevo!!
    Sabés dónde puedo conseguir hueveras?
Ví ahí atrás y me acordé!

    Besito enorme!

  12. Oh, I love your old machine, and its extra special as it was your mothers. My mother was a designer also, and I have her old Judy (dress makers form). I love it! She still used it, and the breasts on it were too big for current day. I made a deal with her, and bought her a new one which has a more appropriate chest size, and I took hers!
I love those oil cans. If I'd seen a collection like that, I would have swept them up too! Lovely.

  19. Hola Silvina!
    Besos!

  23. Good Afternoon Silvina, I love your mother's sewing machine. Maybe one day, when you have more time you will be able to use it again. What a good find those lovely oil cans. I have a vintage Jones treadle sewing machine which needs a little work, but I am looking forward to using it. I have found you via Wow us Wednesdays at Savvy Southern Style and have become a follower. I send you best wishes from England. Daphne

  27. Hi Silvina - these vintage sewing machines are great as a collector's item even if you don't use them. Singer would be the most well known - yours is very interesting because it is a make I've not seen before. I loved the drawing of the dress with the bow at the back - very elegant!

  39. My mum used to have one of those little oil cans. I had forgotten all about it until I saw your picture. She used to make dolls cloths on her machine while I was at school, I never knew what new dolly outfit would be waiting when I got home. Thank you for the memories.

I just love the children's china, those cups are adorable and some I've never seen before. Vintage sewing machines are the best, even if they don't work they look great just as decoration.
