Viejas revistas, interesantes avisos..... Old magazines, interesting ads

You already know that I love decoupage with paper napkins

but sometimes with so many soft colors and flowers I feel a bit "cloyed", as when I eat too many treats

And so I want to get my old magazines

and do something in black and white, like this box, that came as fancy packaging of wine bottles

Me encanta ver las publicidades

I love watching the advertisements

For more women to have better skin

This one shows that the gym wasn't a good choice to get a date

Swimming and Gymnastics school
Days for women: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
For men: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
Business days: from 8 am to 10 pm
Sundays: from 8 am to 12 am

But do not despair. Because the gym wasn't a good choice...Facebook didn't exist at that time...but in this magazine

January 24 th 1934

vemos interesantes avisos

there are interesting matrimonial ads

500 marriages thanks to Matrimonial Guidance
pages 80 and 81

Algunos muy románticos

Some of them very romantic

I have been absorbed by the desire to create a stable and secure position  and reached age 35 without the love of a woman. Now I need it, in order to regularize my life completely. I have won a fortune and I want to do the same with my happiness. I do not care about her physical condition, age or economic status provided it is adorned with beautiful garments of character

Algunas no ocultaban ciertos requisitos no tan románticos

Some women did not hide certain not so romantic requirements

Well educated lady, from a good family and good economic position would marry 40 years old or more, educated gentleman, preferably engineer, pharmacist, rancher or in excelent economic position

Y ellos tampoco

Neither do they

Argentinean, 24 years old, blond, strong and healthy, 1.60 meters height, from a poor but very honored family, dissapointed of the single life, is looking for a woman with a good economic situation, with a view to marriage

And others surprise us with and excess of... sincerity?... self-criticism?

Young lady, 28 years old, blond, rather ugly than pretty but with a noble and good heart, wants to find a gentleman up to 45 years old, regardless of his financial condition, who can make her happy and offer a healthy and loving home, where she would devote the rest of her life

I don't bore you so I'll say goodbye, but I'll continue reading...
I hope you liked it.
See you soon!

Besos!

  7. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I had no idea men and women placed ads in newspapers for a spouse way back then! Very entertaining!
