Hoy Compartimos: Un DIY de Navidad.... A Christmas DIY

Ultimamente no pude hacerme tiempo para dedicarme al blog y tampoco para visitar demasiado tantos blogs amigos que me encantan. Pero no quise perderme la quedada y hoy, sobre el último minuto, a las corridas...

Lately I could not make time for my blog and even visit blogs that I love. But I did not want to miss November "Hoy Compartimos" ("Today we share") so I'm here, on the last minute...

La propuesta era un DIY navideño y se me ocurrió que era la oportunidad para hacer unos domos de nieve caseros

The topic this time is a Christmas DIY and I thought it was a good idea to try with some handmade snow globes

La explicación en todos los blogs y páginas parecía sencilla: frascos vacíos y limpios, agua destilada, glicerina (para espesarla y que tarden más en caer los brillos u otros que le hayamos agregado), algunos muñequitos, brillantina, pegamento...

The explanation on all the blogs and webs seemed simple: empty and clean jars, distilled water, glycerin (so it takes longer to fall flare or other you've added), some little toys, glitter, epoxi ...

Primero pinté las tapas con acrílico dorado

First of all I painted the lids with gold acrylic 

Después pegué los muñequitos a la tapa del frasco (midiendo que pase por la boca del frasco...) y agregué un poco de brillos en esa base

I then adhered the figurines to the inside of the lids (measuring that they fit through the jar...) and I added some glitter shapes around them

Sólo falta el agua destilada (también sugieren agua común hervida), unas gotas de glicerina (el cálculo fue a ojo y un poco de ensayo-error), la brillantina y algunos flequitos brillosos de guirnalda, revolver bien....


Then I filled the jars with distilled water (boiled water is also suggest) and a few drops of glycerin (the calculation was by eye and a bit of trial and error), the glitter and some little pieces of shiny garland, mix them all ....

and snow globes ready!

(Sí, no podía faltar una taza!)

(Yes, a teacup must be present!)

Y como haciendo las compras encontré estos adornitos con hilos

And as I found this little ornaments with a piece of thread

hice otra variante, esta vez pegué el hilo al interior de la tapa 

I made another alternative, this time I glued the thread inside de lid

Linda actividad para hacer con niños, no?
En casa estos días hay clima de exámenes...entregas y maquetas...y hasta cumpleaños y esos planes eran más importantes que hacer globos de nieve con la mamá

Nice craft to do with children, isn't it?
Here at home these are days with exams...architecture models...and birthdays, and those plans were more important than making snow globes with mum

Libros de Lectura.... School Readers

Ya les conté varias veces que mi entusiasmo por la vajilla infantil me llevó a conocer los cuentos tradicionales, sobre todo ingleses

I already told you many times that my enthusiasm for children’s china led me to meet nursery rhymes, mostly english

y en la búsqueda de libros infantiles me reencontré con los viejos libros de lectura

and in my quest for old children's books I rediscovered school readers

y sus imágenes y textos me atraparon...

Bueno, ya sus tapas me parecen tan atractivas

y también las guardas (hojas entre la tapa y el cuerpo del libro)

y claro...de a poco se fueron juntando

and of course… soon they have begun gathering

A las más jóvenes les cuento que el libro de lectura se iba leyendo durante todo el año escolar y tenía lecturas sobre historia

For those of you that are younger I telll you that these were books that pupils used to read during all the school grade and they had lessons of history

What do we do? Mam washes, cooks, irons, cleans. Dad works, on Mondays and holidays gardens. Granny sews, knits. Granpa reads and takes a walk. My brothers study. And I? I play, draw and write. And we are all happy

y esos simpáticos textos donde alguna palabra o sílaba era reemplazada por un dibujito, se acuerdan?

and those nice texts where a word or syllable was replaced by a drawing, do you remember?

seguiría mostrando cantidad de imágenes pero no quiero aburrirlos así que por hoy los dejo cantando el himno con estos niñitos

I should continue showing so many beautiful images but I don't want to bore you, so for now I leave singing the anthem with these little children

Pantallas con Decoupage.... Decoupaged Lampshades

Cuando ambienté una mesa de té para un desafío hace unos meses adorné con esta...¿guirnalda?

y se me ocurrió compartirla en este finde frugal al que nos convoca todos los viernes Marcela

and I thought it was a good idea to show it today, for the frugal weekend that holds Marcela

La tuve que recuperar para volver a sacarle fotos ya que una de mis hijas me la había sacado pedido para colgar en su cuarto. Como se habrán dado cuenta son unas simples pantallitas chinas a las que les hice decoupage con algunas servilletas (una adicción...)

I had to get it back for the pics because one of my daughters grabbed asked for them to hang in her bedroom. As you may have noticed there are just little Chinese lampshades with some decoupage with my paper napkins (an addiction...)

Y aproveché para hacer algunas más

And I did some more 

por unos días quedarán en el comedor. Aunque nunca se sabe...algunos adornos todavía están desde Navidad...

they will stay some days in the dining room. Then, who knows...some things are still here since last Christmas...
