Hoy Compartimos: Jardín, Terraza, Ventana..... Garden, Terrace, Window

Este mes el Hoy Compartimos nos pide jardines, terrazas y ventanas.
Acá estamos en invierno (buhhhh) y, como todos los años, llega el frío y no me dan ningunas ganas de asomarme. Sólo miro al jardín a través de la ventana. Tampoco cuido mucho las plantas...

This month we have to share gardens, terraces and windows. 
We are in winter (buhhhh) and these cold days I only want to look at the garden through the window. I don't go outside, I don't dedicate time to take care of my plants ... 

Pero estoy pensando que voy a tener que cambiar un poco esta costumbre.
Una de mis hijas tiene ganas de empezar una pequeña huerta y la verdad que la idea me encantó. Así que si nos decidimos voy a tener que abrigarme y salir

But I'm thinking I'll have to change a bit this habit. 
One of my daughters wants to start a little orchard and I really love the idea. So if we begin working in it I'll have to wrap myself up and go outside

aunque el pasto no esté muy verde, las plantas no estén muy prolijas y no haya muchas flores...
Tal vez llevando algún abrigo...

although the grass is not green, the plants are not perfect and there are not many flowers ... 
Maybe carrying some blankets...

y algo para comer y tomar

and something to eat and drink

junte fuerzas para salir y empezar a leer el libro que le compré -me estoy entusiasmando más yo que ella creo-

I can gather courage to go out and begin reading the book I bought for her - I think I'm more enthusiastic than her now-.

pero también saqué una pila de libros y revistas que guardo hace muchos años

but I also brought some other books and magazines I have been keeping for many years

y que empecé a juntar cuando sólo tenía unas pocas plantas en macetas en mi departamento de recién casada

and that I began buying when I had only few plants in pots in my apartment when I was a newlywed

Sí! hasta un viejo cuaderno con anotaciones tengo, porque en ese momento hice también un curso en el Jardín Botánico. Fue hace tanto que creo que hasta el cuaderno es ya una antigüedad, no?

Yes! Even an old notebook, because at that time I also took a course in the Botanical Garden. It was so long ago that I think even the notebook is already an antique

No soy la única friolenta por acá

I'm not the only cold blooded over here

Ella también se asoma lo mínimo indispensable. Eso sí, la idea del abrigo parece que le gustó

She goes outside only when it is essential. But it seems that she liked the idea of the blankets

Ahora voy a visitar jardines y terrazas seguramente más verdes y más floridos, claro, mis amigas bloggeras españolas están disfrutando de un lindo verano... (envidia, sí!)

Now I will visit greener and more florid gardens and terraces, my Spanish blogger friends are enjoying a nice summer ... (yes! envy!)

Toques Navideños...... Christmas Touches

Ultimamente me están gustando mucho esas imágenes de Navidades blancas y despojadas

Lately I'm enjoying a lot those beautiful images of white and simple Christmas decorations

pero por ahora no es algo fácil para mí

but for now it is not easy for me

Compré mi primer árbol cuando nació mi primera hija y lo decoré solamente con manzanas rojas (no eran tiempos de blogs ni Pinterest, claro).
Con los años algunas manzanas se fueron rompiendo y se fueron sumando unos cuantos adornos más

I bought my first Christmas tree when my first daughter was born and I decorated it only with red apples (no blogs nor Pinterest then, of course).
Over the years some apples had broken and more ornaments were added

algunos comprados y otros hechos por mis hijos

I bought many of them and others were handmade by my children

así que armé nuevamente el árbol con tantos lindos recuerdos

so I put up the tree with all those sweet memories 

y por primera vez me había propuesto no llenar la casa de adornos. Pero no pude evitar colgar cintas de la araña

and for the first time I thought I was not going to fill the house with stuff. But I could not help hanging some ribbons from the chandelier 

darle algún toque festivo a las tapas de guiseras de la galería

giving a festive touch to the tureen lids in my porch

y siguieron saliendo cosas de las cajas

and things continued appearing out of the boxes

No podían faltar los adornos vintage y frágiles con los que durante toda mi infancia mi mamá adornaba el árbol

Of course I had to find a place for the fragile vintage ornaments from my childhood when I helped my mom with the tree

y las campanas que formaban parte de la colección que tanto quería mi suegra

and some bells that were part of the collection my mother in law loved so much

Mientras acomodaba todo pensé que el estilo y la moda es lo de menos, todo tiene un valor afectivo y nos acompañará unas semanas.
Sí!!! Hasta esos muñecos que tanto querían hace unos años -cuando me ayudaban a armar todo- los mismos que ahora ponen cara de empalago cuando miran tanta decoración....jaja

While I put up all the decoration I thought style and fashion are not important, everything has a sentimental value and will stay with us a few weeks.
Yes!!! Even those dolls that they loved some years ago, when they used to help me with all this, yes, the same that now look around thinking "It's too cloying..." haha

Decoración Navideña.... Desafío Blad.... Christmas Decoration

Siempre empiezo con la decoración de Navidad obediente a la tradición el 8 de diciembre, pero este año el desafío Blad justificaba empezar a ponernos en tema un poco antes y pensé en preparar una mesa

I always start with Christmas decoration on December 8 th. as tradition indicates, but this year Blad's challenge justified that I started getting into this issue a little earlier and I thought I would set a table

Todavía no bajé todas las cajas llenas de adornos. Es más, estoy pensando seriamente en no obligarme a poner todo aunque no va a ser una decisión fácil...Así que preparé algunos cubos de madera que pinté de blanco y a los que les hice decoupage con servilletas de papel

I still haven't opened the boxes full of ornaments. In fact, I'm seriously thinking about not even using all the stuff I've been gathering among the years, but it will not be an easy decision ... So I made some wooden cubes painted white and  decoupaged with paper napkins

hice unos servilleteros con arpillera, viejas partituras y botones

I made some napkin rings with burlap, old music sheets and buttons

Veo que se viene imponiendo una decoración más frugal, más "liviana", más blanca y etérea y la verdad que me encanta y quedo encantada con algunas imágenes. Sin embargo, por ahora sigo un poco enganchada con el rojo y verde

I see the trend is a more frugal, more "light", white and ethereal decor and the truth is I love it and I am delighted with some images. However, for now I'm still a little hooked with red and green

y sumé los bambis, que en nuestra Navidad de verano deben estar muy contentos con las bufandas que les tejió mi hija (a mi pedido, y con la cara de sorpresa de mi sobrino que justo estaba en casa y nos escuchaba hablar de tejer bufandas para bambis....poca cultura bloggera)

I added the bambies, that in our summer Christmas should be very happy with scarves knitted by one of my daughters (at my request, and with the surprised face of my nephew who was right at home and listened to us talking about knitting scarves for bambis .... little blogger culture LOL)

También se sumó algún representante de los globos navideños caseros que les mostré en el post anterior

Also one of my homemade snow globes I shared in my last post

Y ya que la decoración para las Fiestas recién empieza ya me voy a Blad donde seguro debe haber unas ideas geniales

And as decoration for Christmas has just begun I am going to visit Blad where there should be some great ideas

Pantallas con Decoupage.... Decoupaged Lampshades

Cuando ambienté una mesa de té para un desafío hace unos meses adorné con esta...¿guirnalda?

When I shared a tea party for a challenge some months ago I decorated with a...garland?

y se me ocurrió compartirla en este finde frugal al que nos convoca todos los viernes Marcela

and I thought it was a good idea to show it today, for the frugal weekend that holds Marcela

La tuve que recuperar para volver a sacarle fotos ya que una de mis hijas me la había sacado pedido para colgar en su cuarto. Como se habrán dado cuenta son unas simples pantallitas chinas a las que les hice decoupage con algunas servilletas (una adicción...)

I had to get it back for the pics because one of my daughters grabbed asked for them to hang in her bedroom. As you may have noticed there are just little Chinese lampshades with some decoupage with my paper napkins (an addiction...)

Y aproveché para hacer algunas más

And I did some more 

por unos días quedarán en el comedor. Aunque nunca se sabe...algunos adornos todavía están desde Navidad...

they will stay some days in the dining room. Then, who knows...some things are still here since last Christmas...
