Pequeños esquiadores.... Kids skiing

Ya llega la primavera y no subí mi post sobre ski todavía. Bueno, igual parece que la temporada termina en setiembre así que estamos a tiempo

Spring is coming and I haven't published my ski post yet. Well, ski season here ends in september so we are just on time

Como habrán visto no es sobre moda. No, ella no luce las últimas tendencias en prendas para la nieve

As you have seen it's not about fashion. No, she is not wearing very fashionable ski clothing 

pero domina la técnica de los esquíes

but she has mastered skiing

Ya releyó varias veces esta revista, del año 1961 con todos los dibujos e indicaciones que vemos detrás de ella

She has reread this magazine from 1961 several times, with all the drawings and instructions we can see behind her

Ellos también prefieren los esquíes 

They prefer skis too

Ellos, en cambio, el trineo

They, however prefer a sled

Las dos son imágenes de este juego de cuatro platos

Both images are on this four plates set

Parece que son para niños muy educados, no sólo piden con buenos modales

They seem to be for very polite children, that not only ask with good manners

                                                       (Mummy, give me soup!)

sino que después se muestran muy agradecidos y cumplidos...

but thank a lot then...

(Yummy!)

(So tasty!)

Imagino que después de tanta actividad merecen una rica merienda

After such an active day they deserve a yummy snack

y algunos dulces

and some treats

Los chicos parecen muy divertidos

They seem to be enjoying a lot

pero si me preguntan a mí, suficiente de estos días fríos

but for me it's enough of these cold days

me quedo con el programa de playa de las chicas de la tetera

I prefer these teapot girls plan going to the beach

Esta vez son dos libros de lectura de Primer Grado Superior. Nooooo, yo seré mayor que varias de ustedes pero en mi época ya era Primer grado nomás....son de mi entusiasmo por lo antiguo nomás

These are First Grade texts

Y casualmente los dos son de Octubre de 1957

And as a coincidence they share the same date, October 1957

Feliz día a todos los padres y el recuerdo lleno de amor para los que nos acompañan siempre en los hermosos e imborrables recuerdos!!!

Mi vitrina de farmacia....My apothecary cabinet

Como conté al mostrar mi cocina, tengo un mueble grande que era de un viejo almacén donde puedo ver todos los días mis queridas tazas y platos infantiles.

As I have told you when I showed my kitchen, I have a big cupboard which belonged to a grocer's shop where I can see my loved children's cups and plates.

  

Pero ustedes saben cómo es la vida del coleccionista...y se siguen sumando tazas y platos... hueveras...libros infantiles.... y tuve que sumar otro mueble donde ubicarlos.

Es una vieja vitrina de farmacia de puertas corredizas y el fondo -contra la pared- también es de vidrio, ya que es el lado que estaba de frente a los clientes, mientras el vendedor podía tomar por atrás los productos.

But you know how collector's life is...more cups....plates....egg cups...storybooks....and I needed more furniture.

It's an old apothecary cabinet, with sliding doors and the back side -close to the wall- is glass, which was in front of costumers, while the seller took the products from the other side.  

Me gustó dejarla -igual que el otro mueble y el mostrador- con la pintura gastada tal como estaba, con las marcas del paso del tiempo

I decided to leave the old green paint allthough it's peely

Miremos un poco adentro. Por ahora ubiqué algunos bowls, platos y tazas infantiles

Let's take a peek inside. I put some children's bowls, plates and dishes 

Y después de motivos de circo, camiones y el áspero Brutus de Popeye, pasemos por un sector más femenino, el cuento "Coca la colegiala" (Ediciones Sigmar, Colección Chiquitos, de 1961, alguno los recuerda o todos muy jóvenes por ahí?) y una versión de Heidi  más antigua aún y en inglés acompañan este jueguito tan "rosa".

And after those pictures of circus, trucks and rugh Brutus (Bluto?) from Popeye, let's go to a more girly group of things, a story called "Coca, la colegiala" ("Coca, the pupil", Ediciones  1961)) and a Heidi version close to a very "pink" children set.

 Un par de platos térmicos, de esos que se llenaban de agua caliente para que no se enfríe la comida del bebé, claro, ni hablar de microondas todavía. Ya llegará el post mostrando varios más

In these ones the ceramic plates are fixed into the metal bases, that allows hot water to be poured into it to keep baby food warm. I'll soon write a post showing more plates like these.

 

 Por acá un jarrito con un novio declarando su amor, otro plato de bebé, algunas hueveras, con un cuento "Les belles images" que me atrapó con sus hermosos dibujos. Sí, bastante presencia de gallinas por acá...

Here a mug with a proposal, a deep sided baby bowl, some egg cups, together with a book, "Les belles images" that caught me with its cute pictures. Yes, many chickens here....

Y aunque el interés principal es la vajilla, no nos pudimos resistir a tener algunos cubiertos de niños

And allthough my principal interest is collecting dishes, I couldn't resist to have some children's flatware



Tampoco a seguir sumando algunas mini guiseras 

Also some mini tureens

La que asoma en la foto anterior es esta vieja lata de Toddy, en la base está su fecha, dice "1938- Apto para años 1939-40" 

After them you can see an old Toddy's can (a pre-mixed chocolate milk), in the bottom "1938- Suitable years 1939-40"

También hay lugar para el romanticismo en estas tazas con leyenda. Si quieren ver más acá. 

There's also place for romanticism with these cups with messages. If you want to see more here

Y volviendo a lo infantil, bandejas y platitos y conjuntos de tazas y platos

And back to kid's stuff, some trays, little plates and teacups with saucers

 Me encantó ubicar todo en la nueva vitrina pero....sigue faltándome lugar para todos mis tesoros...

I was very happy placing everything in my cabinet but.... I'm still needing more place for my treasures....

Vajilla con mensaje ----------------- Dishes with messages

Muchos platos infantiles tienen pequeñas leyendas…

Many child´s plates have short  messages...

Parece que los niños eran muy correctos y educados y hacían cumplidos a la hora de la comer

It seems that kids were highly polite while eating... 
"Yummy!" "Tasty!"

Eso sí, ni hablar de algún papá ocupándose de la tarea, los pedidos siempre para la mamá…

By the way, requests where allways to Mummy...
"Mummy, soup!" "Mummy, more soup!"

También algunas tazas indican quién es su dueña

Some cups show who´s the owner
"Girl"

Pero no sólo las niñas tiene su taza identificada, también hay para los grandes. Y con ese toque tan "kitsch" que tienen se convirtieron rápidamente en algo más para tomarle cariño y sumar a mis colecciones.

But not only girls have their cups identified , there are also for adults. And with that "kitsch" touch that have turned soon into something else to take care and add to my collections.

En este caso, con plato especial. Eso sí, por ahora conseguí sólo la mía, la del “tú” está pendiente.

In this case with a special plate. So far, I only found mine, "you" cup is pending.

Volviendo a una tacita infantil, acá el mensaje ya no es tan fácil, no?
Back again with children's cups, here the message is not so easy to understand, is it?
