Un Viejo Changuito.... A Vintage Shopping Cart

Aunque no lucía muy atractivo al principio me encantó la idea de rescatar este viejo changuito

Although it didn't look very appealing at first I loved the idea of rescuing this old shopping cart

alguna se acuerda de ellos? Ahora los desplazaron otros más cool pero éstos tenían su encanto, no?
La idea era hacerle una linda bolsa pero justamente tenía pensado usarlo para guardar telas

does anyone there remember them? They have been replaced by some cool ones but I think they had their charm. 
The idea was to make a cute bag but I was planning to use it to store some fabrics

y una vez que puse unas cuantas allí me gustó la idea de dejarlas a la vista

and when I put them there I liked how it looked just like that

arriba puse una canasta con telas más chicas

I put a basket with shorter pieces of fabric on the top

(sí, algunas tazas infantiles se asoman y no me resisto mucho a que aparezcan...)

(yes, some child's teacups peek from behind and I let them appear...)

me encanta esa vieja manija de madera

I love that old wood handle

Pensé también en pintarlo de blanco pero no estoy muy decidida así que por ahora lo dejo así, sin bolsa o funda nueva, sin pintarlo....frugalísimo mi plan así que perfecto para sumarme al Finde Frugal de Marcela de todos los viernes

I also thought about painting it white but I am not sure about it so for now I leave it like that, without new bag... without paint .... very frugal my plan so it's perfect to join every Friday Marcela's Frugal Weekend

Mad Tea Party 2.... Un Té de Locos 2

La verdad que no recuerdo que de chica me atrapara mucho Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, pero a partir de mi interés por las imágenes de viejos cuentos infantiles hoy sus ilustraciones me atrapan.
Por eso me entusiasma participar por segunda vez en el Mad Tea Party que convoca hace siete años Vanessa, de "A Fanciful Twist" con una producción llena de fantasía que no pueden dejar de visitar

When I was a little girl I really wasn't a fan of Alice in Wonderland, but my interest for children's stories illustrations made me enthusiastic about it. 
So I'm excited to participate for the second time at the Mad Tea Party that Vanessa, from A Fanciful Twist, have been hosting for the last seven years, with a production full of fantasy that you can not miss

Sabemos que todo empezó cuando Alicia, que estaba escuchando un cuento que le leía su hermana, vio pasar al Conejo Blanco murmurando que llegaba tarde mientras miraba su reloj bolsillo

We know that it all started when Alice, who was listening to a story her sister was reading, witnessed the White Rabbit muttering that he was late as he looked at his pocket watch

y a partir de ahí tantas situaciones de fantasía desde que encontró una linda casa

and then lots of fantasy situations since she found a nice house

y una botellita tentadora

and a tempting little bottle

(Drink Me-  Bébeme)

Por supuesto tazas no faltan acá

Of course, lots of teacups here

y de distintos tamaños, ya que Alicia se achicaba y se agrandaba

and of various sizes, as Alice shrank and enlarged

y, aunque no es el Conejo de Alicia, había que acercarse al tema con algunos parientes...

and, although they are not Alice's White Rabbit, we replaced him with some relatives ...

que no sólo vinieron en tazas sino también en una dulce cucharita

they not only came in cups but also in a sweet little spoon

y tampoco puedo invitarlos a un Té sin ricos dulces

and I can not invite you to a Tea party without some yummy treats

aunque no se si se arriesgarán con este bocado

although I don't know if you will take the risk of eating this bite of cake

Los invitados se fueron retirando, el té va llegando al final y no puedo despedirme sino con la versión de Alicia que me acompañó en mi infancia

The guests have already gone, the tea is coming to an end and I can not say goodbye without sharing the version of Alicia that accompanied me in my childhood

y los invito a que vayamos a visitar otros Mad Tea Party que seguro nos sorprenderán con gran creatividad.

Where Bloggers Create.... Donde las Bloggers Crean

Karen, de "My Desert Cottage" convoca todos los años a su "Donde las Bloggeras Crean" y a mi me encanta mirar los espléndidos estudios que muestran las participantes y este año, un poco atrevida, yo decidí sumarme.
Atrevida porque no me siento realmente una creativa. Mi blog simplemente empezó para compartir mi entusiasmo por mi colección de tazas y platos infantiles

Every year Karen from My Desert Cottage hostess "Where Bloggers Create" and I love visiting the fantastic spaces the participants always show, and this year, a bit cheeky, I decided to join. 
I say cheeky because I do not really feel I'm creative. I started my blog just to share my enthusiasm for my collection of vintage children's teacups and dishes

y por encontrar el origen de sus imágenes, muchas veces relacionadas con viejos cuentos y rimas

and to look for the meaning of the illustrations, many times related with old nursery rhymes and tales

Pero este mundo de blogs me fue atrapando y llevando a intentar pequeños proyectos en decoupage, como estas tapas para adornar los frascos de alimentos donde ahora guardo distintos materiales

But this world of blogs captivated me and inspired me to try small projects, as these lids with decoupage, to reuse some food jars and keep my materials

o a forrar estas cajas apiladas con cuentos en sus distintas caras

or cover these stacked boxes with tales images in their different faces

y asi fui invadiendo un pequeño escritorio de mi casa con mucho rosa, hasta la silla de comer que usé cuando era bebé entró acá

and so I began to invade a small room in my home, with lots of pink, even the high chair I used as a baby was placed here

Porque yo trabajo a tiempo completo en un lugar mucho más formal y despojado, como abogada, y en mi oficina sólo tengo computadora, papeles y libros serios, será por éso que acá se llena de colores, flores y dibujos infantiles?

Because I work full time in a much more formal and austere place, as a lawyer, and there I only have computer, papers and serious books...would that be the reason why here I filled the place with colors, flowers and tales illustrations?

 Definitivamente no me imagino esta silla con cuentos infantiles en mi lugar de trabajo -el escritorio es un recuerdo familiar de mi familia política y no logré la autorización para intervenirlo...todavía :)

I definitely can't imagine this fairy tales chair in my workplace -the desk is a family heirloom of my in-laws and I'm not authorized to do a makeover...yet  :)-

y tampoco imagino allá este tablero lleno de colores

nor imagine there this board full of colors

Como les conté, mi colección de vajilla infantil me llevó a los libros de cuentos y sus imágenes, y empiezan a juntarse unos cuantos ya

As I told you, my collection of vintage children's teacups and plates led me to old storybooks and their images, and I have been gathering many of them

Me encantan los proyectos con páginas de libros, y justamente dos paredes de este ambiente fueron unas de mis víctimas cuando las cubrí con figurines de moda que tienen un valor afectivo también para mí

I love projects with old book pages and two walls of this room were some of the victims when I covered them with some fashion sketches that have a sentimental value for me

y sobre el otro costado del escritorio, otra mueble con libros y arriba...."las chicas", que presenté hace unos días

and on the other side of the desk more bookshelves, and on top of them..."the girls", that I introduced some days ago

Espero que se hayan sentido cómodas visitando mi lugar, yo ya voy ansiosa a visitar los magníficos estudios que deben estar mostrando las demás participantes en Where Bloggers Create.
