Desafío Blad- Ideas para Ambientar.... Ideas for Setting

La propuesta de Blad de junio tiene que ver con ambientar un espacio, con ideas para recibir en casa. Y yo preparo una mesa para tomar el té con amigas

June's Blad Challenge is about setting a space at home. And I decided to host a tea party for friends

Pero esta vez las dejo descansar de mis amadas tazas infantiles, ya que si bien hay mucho rosa

But today I release you from my beloved children's teacups because although there is a lot of pink here

las "chicas" ya no somos tan "chicas" y además...alguien cree que podría dejar que usen mis tesoros?

we are not girls anymore (in Spanish "chicas" means girls and also little or young) and, besides that....anyone there believe I would let them using my treasures? 

Usé blondas como individuales y también para presentar las servilletas de papel y para apoyar las copas

I used paper doilies as placemats and also for the napkins and under the glasses

y en el centro de la mesa, también agregando unas viejas partituras

and, those in the centre of the table, with some old music sheets

Cuando mis fotos tienen que ver con comida siempre hay varios esperando que las termine y les de el ok para poder atacar

When my photos have to do with food everyone here is waiting for me to finish and allowing them to "attack"

esta vez, además, mis hijas ya me pidieron para colgar en sus cuartos las pantallitas chinas a las que les hice decoupage 

today, my daughters also asked me to hang in their bedrooms these little chinese lampshades I added some decoupage

Vistiendo paredes- Desafío Blad...... Decorating walls- Blad Challenge

El desafío de septiembre es mostrar como tenemos vestidas nuestras paredes y la primera que muestro la vestí con un diccionario viejo

September's challenge is to show how we decorate our walls and this first one is a dictionary wall

Sí, esto de pegar libros, diarios y mapas lo vi bastante en la web y no me pude resistir. Ya había hecho un primer intento con una mesa y después ataqué una pared de mi cuarto

Yes, I have seen many crafts and deco with books, newspapers, maps in the web and I couldn't resist. First I tried with a table and then I attacked one of my bedroom's walls 

Me encanta ver las pequeñas ilustraciones en blanco y negro

I love watching those little black and white illustrations

Claro, no me pude resistir a pegar la hoja donde empieza "mi" letra y destacarla con un marquito

Of course I couldn't resist to include the page where "my" letter begins and distinguish it with a little old frame

que por supuesto no iba a dejar sin compañía

La segunda pared que comparto está en la galería.
Ya saben que me encanta la vajilla antigua pero ya tenía unos cuantos platos infantiles adornando la cocina, primero pensé en platos "de grandes" pero después me decidí por tapas de guiseras y soperas

This second wall that I am going to share is in my porch.
You know that I love vintage china but I already had some children's dishes decorating the kitchen. First I thought I would hang some "adult" dishes but then I decided that tureen lids could be a good idea

Todas ellas habían perdido a quien tenían que tapar así que hasta me pareció una forma de darles una oportunidad para volver a lucirse, no?

All of them had lost their tureen so it is like a second chance for them to shine, isn't it?

Hay de diferentes formas, algunas con manijas importantes y otras con motivos que me encantan

There are different shapes, some with important handles and others with lovely images

Y como tercera pared acá va un esfuerzo de sinceridad y realidad.

Porque no todo es vajilla y libros antiguos, y algunos no están muy preocupados por el estilo vintage.

Así que como ayudé a una de mis hijas a pintar su escalera multicolor camino a su altillo/dormitorio -aunque no fuera mi estilo- también otro día compré una lata de pintura latex roja, busqué la cinta de enmascarar y simplemente... cumplí órdenes!

And as the third wall here goes a big effort to be honest and make it real.

Because it is not all about old china and books, and someone here is not much interested in vintage style.

And, as once I helped one of my daughters to paint her multicolored attic's stair -though it was not my style - another day I bought some red paint, masking tape and just.....obeyed orders!
