Decoupage con gramática francesa.... Decoupage with French grammar

Ya había hecho decoupage con servilletas y con copias de libros de cuentos.
Pero desde hace un tiempo quería probar con hojas de libros viejos. Creo que el hermoso mueble que mostró Jennifer de Town and Country Living terminó de decidirme.
Pero faltaban dos cosas, algún mueble al que atacar y superar mi dificultad para pensar en desarmar un libro.

Al mirar el otro día qué arruinada estaba esta mesa auxiliar ya se había solucionado la primera

I have already done decoupage with paper napkins and with storybook' s copies.
But I wanted to try with old book pages. I think the lovely cabinet that Jennifer from Town and Country Living shared finally decided me.
But there were two obstacles, I needed a piece of furniture which could be "attacked" and I had to overcome  my difficulty to cut up the pages.

When some days ago I realized how ruined this folding table was, one of them was removed

Y la segunda la solucioné al encontrar algunos hermosos libros viejos por pocos pesos y olvidados por sus dueños (jamás podría hacerlo con los míos...). En definitiva, es una linda manera de tener esas imágenes y textos a la vista, no?
Así que empezó la tarea. Plasticola rebajada con un poco de agua, pincel...

And the second one was removed when I found some lovely old books, they were very cheap and had been  left by their owners (I can't do it with mine...). By the way, it's a nice way of displaying such nice illustrations and texts, isn't it? 
So task started. Glue mixed with some water, a brush...

and getting hands dirty is the best way to prevent wrinkles

Como el color de las hojas quedó bastante parecido al de la mesa me pareció que era buena idea pegar sólo en la tabla de la mesa 

As the color of the pages is very similar to the table I thought it was a good idea to line only the top  

y la parte de abajo

and the bottom

Dejé los bordes con el deterioro de los años porque siento que mantiene su encanto

I left the edges with their natural damage showing passing time

El libro es de gramática francesa

It's a French grammar book 

Y aunque no se nada de francés entendí algunas cosas y hasta me puse romántica

And although I don't speak French, I understood some things and even got romantic

Me detuve contemplando las hermosas ilustraciones

I contemplated such wonderful illustrations

Y así, contemplándolas....miren con qué me encontré!

And, let's see what I found!

Y sí....los cuentos me siguen y por supuesto yo no me resisto. Ahora ya se decir Caperucita Roja en francés, Le petit Chaperon Rouge.

Como la mesa es plegable la cubrí toda extendida y cuando ya estaba seco corté con cuter justo por la división de las dos partes

Yes... childre's stories are following me and of course I don't resist. Now I know how to say Little Red Riding Hood in French, Le petit Chaperon Rouge.

As this is a folding table I lined it all extended and then, when the glue dried I cut it 

La verdad que me encantó cómo quedó. Y lo que más me gusta es que la próxima vez que reciba visitas no voy a necesitar poner un mantel como hacía últimamente para tapar lo fea que estaba. Quizás hasta alguno quiera aprender un poco de vocabulario en francés.

The truth is I am very happy with my "new" table. And what I like most is that next time I invite people I won't need a tablecloth as I have been doing lately to cover the ugly table. Maybe some of them want to learn some french vocabulary
