Otro mueble verde viejo.... Shabby green furniture

Se fue dando así. Sin definirlo antes. Sin un plan previo.
Nuestra nueva-vieja cocina se fue llenando de muebles verde viejo.
Una de las ideas definidas en la reforma era no poner alacenas y sí muebles antiguos. Y así apareció el mostrador que había estado tantos años en un almacén

It just happened. Without defining it before. Without a prior plan.
Our new-old kitchen have been filled with old green furniture.
One of the ideas set out in the reform was not to put cabinets but old pieces of furniture. And so came the counter who had been many years in a grocery

Y, ya que estábamos, trajimos también un mueble vitrina que había estado en el mismo negocio, y que enseguida se fue llenando con mis tazas y platos infantiles

And we also took a cabinet that was in the same shop with us, and soon began filling it with some of my children's cups and dishes

En un primer momento pensamos en sacarles la pintura, o pintarlos de blanco pero enseguida nos decidimos por dejarlos como estaban, y con esas marcas del paso del tiempo

First, we thought of the idea of strip paint or paint them white, but quickly decided to leave them as they were, with the original aged paint

Un poco después apareció la vitrina de farmacia. Era una buena idea para poder seguir poniendo mis tesoros, y además....también era verde! Si la quieren ver un poco mejor vean acá

No es el tono exacto de los muebles anteriores, que son de un verde más grisáceo, pero no nos preocupa nada

It's not the exact color of the others, that are a bit gray-green, but it doesn't concern us 

Siempre es bueno conseguir otro mueble cuando uno sigue juntando cosas sin poder frenarse.

Y parece que estos verdes se usaban mucho hace unos cuantos años.

Ya teníamos almacén, farmacia...éste parece que estuvo en una panadería

It's always a good idea to get more pieces of furniture when you continue collecting things.

And it seems these "greens" were in fashion many years ago.

We already have grocery, apothecary...and I think this one was in a bakery

Lo imagino lleno de ricas facturas en estos estantes inclinados

I imagine it full of tasty croissants on these inclined shelves

Acaba de llegar a casa y por supuesto ya me pongo a llenarlo de cosas y en unos días les muestro cómo quedó.

Pero les dije al empezar que la cocina se estaba llenando de verde y no puedo dejar de mostrarles algo más. El color es casi igual. Sospechan algo?

No creo que adivinen...

Necesitaba alguna manera de contener a la nueva mascota cuando la dejamos sola para que no destruya todo

Y qué mejor que MI viejo corralito de madera? Sí, en el que me ponían a mí cuando era bebé, con alguna adaptación ahora porque se escapaba entre los barrotes. También verde, por supuesto, será que estoy tan antigua??

Is there anything better than MY old baby fence? Yes, the one I used when I was a baby, with some modification as it was escaping through the bars. It is also green, does it mean I am vintage too?
